Ian Reviews the Fairmile Sweeper:
The Fairmile Sweeper surfboard is a vessel full of style, glide and speed. There’s a lot of choice in the Mid Length market right now but this board stands out for 3 good reasons, firstly the shape, secondly the quality of the finish and thirdly the wave range.
The shape; this absolute wave catching monster pairs a low, flat rocket with a great rail profile to give a blend of speed and the ability to get it turning. It is foiled to be loose and flowing but will still bank into the pocket, it has the feel of a combination of the CI Mid and a Skindog Ova. The finish; at first glance you think Album, the finish is that good! These boards are created by shaper Chris Bugge, his years of shaping experience coupled with his perfectionist nature means these boards rock. Wave range – we’ve surfed the Sweeper in everything from knee high summer slop to overhead punchy beach breaks, it works as well as any mid we’ve ever surfed.
Fairmile’s Sweeper is the board to be on to take over the line up wherever you are. An alternative choice to a longboard for when you spy smaller weaker swells but also a choice for when its pumping! This hand finished delight of a surfboard not only looks phenomenal, it comes with a 2+1 fin set up which opens the door to riding this either as a single fin for ultimate glide and cruise, or go for a smaller centre fin and side bites more drive, hold and performance.
Fairmile Surfboard’s Sweeper Midlength, like all boards from Fairmile is proudly built in the UK, they are hand crafted, hand finished and no finishing of the boards takes place anywhere else but Fairmile’s HQ. The glassing is 6+4/6oz so you not only get the finish and looks of a dream board, but the glassing will hold up to the day to day tolls of surfing.
