Big Jeff and I, ATCQ “Check the Rhime”

Music/dancing has always been a huge passion… it’s so liberating and elevating; I do it almost daily. Was supposed to make it to my first live show tonight since Covid began ( Questlove’s set at an opening in Vegas) and unable to go now. So, with one of the greatest beings I know and the brother I never had, Big Jeff, and I brought the party to where we were. If anyone knows Big Jeff (and so many do – he is so loved and NYC’s hip hop treasure�), you know that’s the type of person he is. Jeff is universal. Jeff is for the kids. Jeff is one of the greatest people you’ll ever meet… I believe it’s his energy, huge heart, wit and super intelligence. But dont take him for a chump – I’ve never seen anyone go up against Luvbug Starski (rip) as Jeff did one night uptown � ⁣

We met over 20 years ago at Summer Stage in NYC. I was with my former boyfriend, Crazy Legs, at the time… a dancer/choreographer himself. We were all backstage and I see Jeff dancing, all the ol school classic moves….. and I was like, ‘Who is this guy? He is fantastic!’ and we have been friends ever since. His presence has a way with everyone. On a trip to the Gunks/NY, even Matt got choked up after meeting Jeff and I’ll never forget him saying after we left, “Today… I met a wonderful human being.” ❤️ Grateful for these fun times… we actually filmed about 10 vids: Ice Cube, Tribe Called Quest, Get Boys, Bobby Brown, etc… classics. So much fun….
